The school is located in a beautiful bush location and takes pride in its programs in preserving this natural environment. Recently a swale project was completed to allow for a non  intrusive way of changing the water flow within the playground environment. Bush seating for students capturing natural shading  has been developed. Students are involved in annual tree planting initiatives.  Aligning to national programs are part of the school curriculum and a vegetable garden is next project.

This environmental focus is supported through many Oatley community organisations.  Two prominent groups are the Oatley Flora and Fauna Committee and the Permaculture Group. Another major focus of the school has been its involvement in the Oatley Historical Society which links with the students in maintaining an historical perspective of this school environment.
